The Waking Hour at All Day I Dream

We are excited to announce the return of THE WAKING HOUR, a Culture Vulture Experience, that will be taking place inside of All Day I Dream Festival at Middle Harbor Shoreline Park on the waterfront in Oakland on September 30th. Join us for The Waking Hour Opening Ceremony, a yoga and sound healing meditation experience specifically designed to set the tone for our day of dancing.

The Waking Hour Opening Ceremony and Yoga will be led by SF music industry icon and yoga instructor Monika Bernstein. Monika embraces living in the present, unconditional love, humor, empathy, forgiveness, and gratitude. It is these characteristics that she strives to bring out in her students, both on the mat and off. Hailing from the music industry, Monika brings her ear for music and her everlasting energy to class. Her classes are thoughtful, fun at heart and heart opening, energetic and challenging; connecting mind, body and breath with thoughtful sequencing and attention to alignment.

The Waking Hour begins promptly at 1PM to help us embark on the day’s journey. Let's ceremoniously synch our energy to raise us all to a higher ground where dreams are reality and reality is a collective dream. Bring your yoga mat and come early to get settled. We STRONGLY RECOMMEND THAT YOU ARRIVE AT THE GATE 30 MINUTES EARLY (12:30pm) to allow time for parking and settling in.

THE WAKING HOUR IS FREE with All Day I Dream ticket holders. For more info on All Day I Dream tickets, click here.

Active Listening in Life and Yoga

Active Listening in Life & Yoga
with Monika Bernstein

Master the often difficult discipline of Active Listening in every day life, and on the yoga mat.

Research suggests that we remember only between 25-50% of what we hear. By mastering active listening skills, not only are we able to better hear what is being said, we also enhance our relationships, both personally and professionally.

Similarly, when we actively listen to our bodies, we create a deeper sense of self-awareness. Through embodiment and mindfulness we move forward to living a meaningful, and healthy life.

In this workshop we will learn the tools and methods to be become masters of active listening, and we will acquire the skills of embodiment on our yoga mats through a careful curation of sequenced poses.
